A few years ago, I was driving through Northern California, and I wondered what a particular mountain off in the distance was.
This gave me the idea to write an iPhone application that would triangulate a distant object based on the intersection of two points.
WhatThePeak is that application.

Usage is simple: line up the crosshairs on the object you’re interested in from one point and set the bearing, then go down the road a distance and repeat the process. The intersection is calculated and plotted on a map.
